Ebay has a sneaky move with its "Buy it now" button: Never click on it to simulate a selling to know how much the shipping fees are, because clicking on "Buy it now" corresponds to a legal promise to really buy the object.
Just use the "add to basket" button instead, or ask the seller about the shipping prices.
There are ways to deal with cancelling a click on "buy it now", but it takes time and energy, and it can be not that obvious with some sellers.
